Endeavour Winner


Congratulations to Fairwood alum Brenda Cooper for winning this
year's Endeavour Award for her novel, Edge of Dark -- which was also a finalist for the Philip K. Dick Award earlier this year.

Other finalists for the Endeavour, awarded to a novel or single-author collection by a Pacific Northwest writer, were:
  • Tracker, by C.J. Cherryh (Daw)
  • Irona 700, by Dave Duncan (Open Road)
  •  Silver on the Road, by Laura Anne Gilman (Saga)
  • The Price of Valor, by Django Wexler (Roc)

Check out Brenda's Edge of Dark along with the sequel, Spear of Light, also from Pyr and released this past summer!

Brenda Cooper Award Nomination

Congratulations to Fairwood alum Brenda Cooper, whose latest novel Edge of Dark is a finalist for for the 2016 Philip K. Dick award.

Best of 2010 List Includes Fairwooders

Congratulations to Renee Stern, whose story "Red Hell", which appeared in Black Gate #14 in winter 2010, was selected as a starred story for Tangent Online's Recommended Reading List for 2010.

Congratulations also to former Fairwood member Brenda Cooper, whose short story"The Hebras and the Demons and the Damned" and novella "Robot Girl", both published in Analog, also appeared on the list.
